COLLECTOR’S CORNER: A WORLD TRAVELER’S ECLECTIC COLLECTION
By M.R. Maluli Voravan
The program will start at 10 a.m.
M.R. Maluli Voravan loves to travel, and she had visited quite a number of countries so far. Her favorite souvenirs from each place seem to be textiles, and she has accumulated a truly eclectic collection that represents cultures of different regions in the world. Although the major part of her textiles were acquired in Asia from such places as Indonesia, India, Bhutan, Thailand and Laos, some pieces have journeyed here from as far as Guatemala, Turkey and Uzbekistan. M.R. Maluli represents the spontaneous collector who invests in what she enjoys. Her collection includes several valuable pieces, in particular one Indonesian textile that is of museum quality.
