Amazing Discoveries about Siam in the Early Bangkok Period

Professor Santanee Phasuk, one of the curators of the Royal Map exhibit at the Jim Thompson House Art Center, will talk about the discovery of 17 unique early 19th century maps. Found in 1995 at the Grand Palace, the study of these maps is changing the way historians understand 19th century Siamese history. The maps were painted on cloth and are in relatively good condition. Learn about how they are being studied and preserved.
