TRADITIONAL KOREAN DRESS – THE HANBOK
Saturday, 19 May 2012
Traditional Korean garment is known as Hanbok. Both men and women wear it, with a long sleeved shirt at the top, completed with a full skirt for women and baggy pants for men. Children also wear the Hanbok. It has simple lines and vibrant colors and is worn as semi-formal or formal wear during traditional festivals and celebrations. These are mostly made of silks or fine thin cottons, but today a variety of materials are used. Nicole (So Young) Lee will tell us about the history and use of this very attractive Korean garment. She will have several samples to show plus Hanbok’s will be modeled by young ladies (girls).
Come and join us for this interesting talk and demonstration.
