“PRESERVATION OF YOUR TEXTILE COLLECTIONS
The Basics, Tips, with Show and Tell”
Come learn the basics of textile preservation, with an emphasis on how to take care of your collections in a humid and tropical climate. Meet with the expert Julia Brennan, currently consulting conservator for the Queen Sirikit Textile Museum and owner of Textile Conservation Lab in the U.S. We’ll have the opportunities to learn how to proper handle textile and experience with more hands on tips.
Subjects covered will include climate, environment, proper display methods, storage and handling. The audience is invited to bring their own textiles, which will be used to discuss problems and solutions. This part is intended to be more fun and informative.
